AI Economics, Enterprise Readiness and AI Factory Adoption | Melbourne

04 Aug 2026

The Melbourne Executive Roundtable successfully achieved its primary objective of creating an open, executive-level discussion around the practical realities of scaling Artificial Intelligence beyond experimentation into enterprise-wide operationalisation.

Unlike a traditional technology presentation, the discussion remained highly interactive throughout the two-hour session, with every executive contributing openly under Chatham House Rule. The quality of participation was exceptionally high, with attendees representing banking, telecommunications, utilities, healthcare, higher education, government, enterprise software and technology vendors.

Rather than focusing on technology demonstrations, the discussion centred on commercial decision-making, governance, workforce transformation, AI economics, trust and enterprise readiness.

One of the strongest outcomes was validation that organisations across every industry are experiencing remarkably similar challenges. Regardless of maturity level, every executive identified governance, trust, data quality and organisational change—not technology—as the greatest barriers to scaling AI.

The discussion also reinforced HCLTech's positioning as an organisation capable of helping customers move beyond isolated AI pilots into governed enterprise transformation. Throughout the discussion, HCLTech's perspectives on AI economics, enterprise readiness and responsible implementation aligned closely with the challenges customers described.
