AI Economics, Enterprise Readiness and AI Factory Adoption | Brisbane

06 Aug 2026

The Brisbane executive roundtable highlighted a significant shift in AI maturity compared with the Melbourne session held earlier in the week. While Melbourne participants were largely in the early stages of AI adoption, the Brisbane group comprised predominantly organisations operating at intermediate to advanced levels, with most participants identifying as being at Stage 2 or Stage 3 of AI adoption.

The discussion moved beyond introductory AI topics and focused on the practical challenges of scaling AI across large enterprises. Executives explored how to operationalise AI responsibly, measure economic value, strengthen governance, redesign operating models, and prepare workforces for sustained transformation.

Across government, critical infrastructure, healthcare, resources, and financial services, a common theme emerged: AI was no longer viewed simply as a technology project, but increasingly as an enterprise-wide operating model challenge.
